چکیده

T he Hough transform is a useful technique in the detection of straight lines and curves in an image. Due to the mathematical similarity of the Hough transform and the forward Radon transform, the Hough transform can be computed using the Radon transform which, in turn, can be evaluated using the central slice theorem. This involves a two-dimensional Fourier transform, an x-y to rmapping and a 1D Fourier transform. This can be implemented in specialized hardware to take advantage of the computational savings of the fast Fourier transform. In this paper, we outline a fast and ecient method for the computation of the Hough transform using Fourier methods. The maxima points generated in the Radon space, corresponding to the parametrisation of straight lines, can be enhanced with a post transform convolutional ®lter. This can be applied as a 1D ®ltering operation on the resampled data whilst in the Fourier space, so further speeding the computation. Additionally, any edge enhancement or smoothing operations on the input function can be combined into the ®lter and applied as a net ®lter function.

Fast linear Hough transform

The Hough Transform is the choice technique for identifying straight lines through digital images, with applications to high energy physics and computer vision. Classical methods for implementing the Hough transform of a N N binary image require to compute N3 additions over n = log2(N) bits integers, hence nN3 bit operations per transform. We introduce a new algorithm for computing the fast Hou...

Extraction of Circles from Arcs Segmented into Short Straight Lines

paper presents a new method that is capable of extracting circles from complicated and heavily corrupted images, which is not based on the Hough transform (HT). The proposed method consists of three parts. First, we approximately detect short straight lines from the image by using a fast line extraction algorithm. Second, it uses a least squares fitting algorithm for arc segments. The arc segme...

Fast Straight Lines Detection Using Hough Transform with Principal Axis Analysis

Hough Transform is a sound method for detecting straight lines in digital images. Considering an image with lattice structure, we modify the procedure in detecting straight lines using Hough Transform. We propose a Principal Axis Analysis Method to speed up the extraction of straight lines and increase the accuracy of the detected lines. We first transfer the parameters to a onedimensional angl...
